![]() We are commited to providing a high quality eyetest in a friendly and relaxing environment. We will take the time to explain the tests and answer any concerns you may have. The eyetest is recorded on the most up-to-date optical database software, so all your history can be recalled at the touch of a button. Aspects we examine are; binocular vision function, glaucoma screening, diabetic eye screening, visual field examination, colour vision assessment, low vision aid assessment, VDU and occupational vision screening. As technology advances rapidly it is important to stay abreast of improvements. This is why we have invested in the most modern equipment like a fundus camera. This provides a digital image of the back of your eye. A major advantage of this is that your retina can be monitored for changes over time.

Research shows that up to a quarter of children have vision problems. The development of visual skills such as focusing, eye movement and depth perception play an important role in children's learning, early on and at school age. The co-ordination and focusing of the eyes are vital to a child's ability to read, concentrate and understand. Many learning problems can be associated even with minor eye defects. An eye condition like amblyopia (lazy eye) cannot be treated over the age of 8,so it is crucial to get children’s eyes tested early and regularly.
We can provide prescription sports eyewear and advice on eye safety. Prescription swimming goggles, ski goggles, cycling wraparounds and advise on sports tints for e.g. golf, shooting.
Glaucoma screening-Glaucoma is a common eye disease, which can cause blindness. It can be, for the most part symptomless and this is why people over 40 or people with a family history of the disease should be screened regularly. This would include an eye test with a pressure test and visual field test.
